Final Flight George Eldridge

A message from our group president, Chris Horn:

Today, we honor another WW2 flyboy, with a Celebration of Life in South Nampa, Idaho. George Eldridge, who had his Last Flight on July 15th, was 105 years. George was a Bombardier with the 344th Bomb Group, at their start in Stansted, England. He was the lead bombardier for the 494th Bomb Sqd, flying with Navigator Carl Moore in “Tom’s Tantalizer”. He completed 45 missions, and joined the Air Force after the War. He retired in 1969. George and his late wife Elena enjoyed flying in their light plane.

George was the last living member of the 344th BG that we know of. He attended the last Reunion in Dayton in 2017 with Otto Kirkpatrick, Santo Endrizzi, and my father, Edward Horn.
